Faculty of Medicine signs cooperation agreement with Extended Reality specialist ANIMA RES
Prof. Dr. Bernd Weber, Vice Dean for Studies and Teaching at the Faculty of Medicine, and Pablo Olmos and Rodrigo Olmos, Managing Directors and owners of ANIMA RES, have signed a written cooperation agreement. Within the framework of the cooperation, medical education at the University of Bonn will be further enhanced. Together, the partners want to develop and validate didactically useful learning modules, as well as to provide third-party funding for research and development projects and training measures. Joint scientific publications are planned as well as the publication of software in the field of medical education and training.
In medicine, the importance of digitization in learning methods and content is consistently increasing. Vice Dean Prof. Weber says: „New technologies make it possible to visualize complex three-dimensional relationships much better and to increase learning success through interactive elements“. With ANIMA RES, the faculty has gained one of the world’s most innovative partners in the field of medical visualization. The cooperation will start in the field of cardio- and neurophysiology in order to make complex phenomena, such as the propagation of excitation in the heart, more vivid for students. Prof. Weber says: “Our goal is to make more and more eLearning approaches available and usable in our courses of study.”
For Pablo Olmos, the cooperation with the University of Bonn offers new opportunities in the further development of his company’s services: “We want to make medical education fascinating and accessible with the disruptive possibilities of Augmented Reality – also for laymen and patients“.
